Filling a DropDownList Using Dataset

This Procedure can be used to fill a drop down list.We are using two properties at the time of filling--


1. .DataTextField (Text which will be display in list box)
2. .DataValueField (Value of ID field Corresponding to shown Text)

To get Selected Text (means Name in given case) we will use property

ddlName.SelectedItem.Text

and to get Value of selected Text (means ID in this Case) we will use property

ddlName.SelectedValue
